I've liked this name a lot since I first saw it. I have a character named Quintina (which I've always pronounced as KWAHN-teena, not KWIN-teena), and, appropriately enough, she's the fifth of five children. I really like (legit) names that start with rarer letters, since you don't get a chance to use them very often.
- Italy;
- the Netherlands;
- the Spanish-speaking world (i.e. Spain and Latin America);
- the Portuguese-speaking world (i.e. Portugal and Brazil).
The name is rare in all of these countries, however, even if only when compared to its masculine counterpart in those countries.
In the Spanish-speaking world, the name is sometimes also variantly spelled as Quintína.
Also, the Dutch pronunciation of Quintina is: kwin-TEE-nah.
