Miranda Kerr named her fourth child (feb 2024) Pierre. It seems quite different from the other names she gave her children. I am quite neutral on the name. Perhaps her use will boost the name.

Ugly, sounds like pirate.

People who say this is a "stereotypical Frenchman's name" are probably racist and immature, even if Pierre is very common in France.
Another name I love. The history is very cool and it sounds like the name of a very handsome man.

To who thinks it's horrible: sure, Pierre may be a cliche, but it's French for Peter which is rock in Greek. And in the Bible, Jesus said to Peter, "You are my rock, and upon this rock I will build my church". So overall, it has a good meaning.

This name is such a cliché and to me it looks and sounds ugly. I simply can't stand it, but it's just my personal opinion.
Despite Pierre Perrier, and that it was my great-grandfather's name (I'm part-French), I don't like this name that much. It's okay, but I think there are other French names which are more interesting.
I've visited many major cities in Europe- and in every each of them there was a hair salon (or more than just one) named PIERRE (+ something else like Marco, Jean, Francois, Louis.) . I find this really boring- a cliche'. I can't really say that I like this name. Sorry.
