Paulette Nardal (1896 – 1985) was a French writer from Martinique, a journalist, and one of the drivers of the development of black literary consciousness. She was one of the authors involved in the creation of the Négritude genre and introduced French intellectuals to the works of members of the Harlem Renaissance through her translations.
Paulette is the name of Cinderella's fairy godmother in the anime series Cinderella Monogatari. She is also a painter - her name is a pun on the word "palette".
A famous bearer of this name was American actress Paulette Goddard, who starred in Chaplin's "Modern Times" and "The Great Dictator" and later developed a great movie career on her own.
