I really think Patrice is a gorgeous name. It’s close to Patricia, and I see nothing wrong with that! Personally I see it as a girl’s name. It sounds too feminine to be used for a boy, but this might be a feminine name that will grow on me as gender neutral, so wait!

Prefer this over Patricia. Didn't know this was a male name.
This is NOT the French form of Patricia, and it is NOT the French female version of Patricius & Patrick. It is the French form of Patricius & Patrick, normally FOR MALES, and Patricia for females.
I would NEVER use Patrice for a girl, no way! Unless... she were never to leave the US where, for some odd reason, it has become a unisex name. Internationally, esp. In the French speaking world, francophone and francophile eyebrows raise when they meet a female Patrice, not pretty. When I hear the name Patrice I always think of a man, and when I meet a Patrice (it happened only 1 time, thank goodness) I always think her parents did not know any better when naming her.

Patrice O'Neal (1969-2011) was an American comedian.
This is also a female name, at least in North America, as we can see by other female bearers above. I also had a female assistant professor named Patrice in university. [noted -ed]
