A fictional character created by J.R.R. Tolkien. Orchaldor was a noble, son of Hatholdir a descendant of the House of Hador and a close personal friend of Tar-Meneldur. He married Ailinel the elder daughter of Tar-Meneldur and sister of Tar-Aldarion. This related him by marriage to Tar-Meneldur's heir Aldarion. He and Ailinel had a son named Soronto who should have become King but the laws of succession were changed by Tar-Aldarion that allowed his daughter to become Ruling Queen.
