Ora 2

I love the sweet simplicity of this name and the proximity to the Spanish word for gold, “oro”.

I've loved this name since I first discovered it at age twelve, and it was one of the names I had in mind for my four future daughters. (I had planned to name my third future daughter Ora Kate, little suspecting I'd someday no longer want eight children or even love all of those names enough to use them on children.) So many years later, it's still a name I'd consider using on a future child. It's just so simple and pretty, and I like the meaning "light."

The baby names booklet I used to have gave the meaning as "Lover of the sea," which is probably as connected to its true etymology in any language as the meaning "beautiful Slavic butterfly fairy princess" is to Nevaeh!
