Actually, according to Oprah Winfrey herself her name was spelled as Orpah on the birth certificate, but ever since her infancy her family has pronounced and spelled it as Oprah.
A hideous name. So it fits the ugly old windbag who is known for this abomination. I feel sorry for any innocent child who is given this atrocity of a name.

It’s actually very sad how people are dissing this name. Oprah Winfrey is the most successful BLACK Female Woman. Yet there are whiny brats who are dissing this name, yet I bet they are sitting at their computer right now staring with their butt sitting in their chair. YET OPRAH WINFREY is making BILLIONS of dollars. In my opinion I think this is a great name of a great woman, but I wouldn’t name a child this because Oprah Winfrey practically owns this name.
Who'd want to share a name with Oprah Winfrey? She's not exactly an honourable person. It's ugly anyway. It reminds me of the words "opera", "orca", and "okra".
I wouldn't name my kid Oprah because of the stupid talk-show host herself. If you name your kid this, then the first thing that comes to mind is Oprah Winfrey.
If Orpah hadn't been misspelled on Oprah Winfrey's birth certificate, I would have never come across such a lovely name. I wouldn't use it myself, though.
Oprah is a very ugly name, in my opinion, I don't agree with Oprah on lots of topics either. I never knew that Oprah was supposed to be named Orpah! That's really ironic!

Oprah is one of the most successful women to ever walk this planet! Winfrey is the name and there's no other billionaire like her either, she is a true rags to riches postgirl. I love her; she is beautiful, smart, and strong willed, witted, and wealthed! Anyone who names their child this name better make sure they have the potential to live up to it.
Oprah Winfrey's parents actually meant to name her Orpah after Ruth's sister in law from the Old Testament, but it was misspelled on the birth certificate.
