"Odetta" is the name of an extremely talented and soul-moving blues singer. Her career heyday was probably in the 60's, but she still performs a little these days. Artists such as Bob Dylan, Pete Seeger, and Joan Baez have credited Odetta with great influence over their own personal musical paths.
