Georgian form of Nonna. The use of this name first started in honour of the Cappadocian (i.e. Anatolian) saint Nonna of Nazianzus (4th century AD). Her name is of either Anatolian, Egyptian, Greek or Semitic (most likely Assyrian) origin.
