Nicolás Solís Gómez, the late son of Spanish film director Pedro Solís García. Nicolás was born with severe cerebral palsy - due to a lack of oxygen flow to his brain through the placenta - that left him unable to walk, talk or eat on his own. Nicolás's relationship with his older sister Alejandra inspired their father's short film Cuerdas ("strings"), for which he received the Goya Award for Best Animated Short Film in 2013. Nicolás died on April 2, 2021, at the age of 16.
