Hi, I'm a Nia. I think my name is spelled differently in certain parts of the world but I pronounce it 'Knee-uh'. Most people do here in Wales (I have not met some who pronouns it 'Nye-uh').So yeah, have a nice day :)
Can also be said as Nigh-uh (Nigh rhymes with high) I strongly feel that that pronunciation is much, much better than "Nee-uh" Mia: That name can be said both ways and the same goes for Nia.

My name, and it IS pronounced Nee-a. I speak Welsh and know two other Nias, have heard of many (it's popular in Welsh mythology, see Nia Ben Aur), and have a friend whose middle name is that. It's really popular where I live! There are other names pronounced Nye-a, but this is not one of them. THIS name, however, is pronounced Nye-a: http://www.behindthename.com/name/Nia-2.
Nia should be pronounced "NEE-ah", not "NYE-a". "NYE-a" is the pronunciation of a completly different name spelt Naya that has some other meaning.

Pronounced KNEE-ah. Not NYE-ah.In the Welsh language, 'i' is pronounced like the English 'e' (While the Welsh 'e' is pronounced 'eh'). Therefore, an 'i' in a Welsh name, should also be pronounced 'e'.This comes from someone who speaks Welsh as a first language.

So yeah, have a nice day :)
