Feels boring, so many of these short Mia, Nia, Lia and other similar names, but have to say, comparing Nia to plain and boring Mia, well, Nia is just wonderful, because it doesn't feel like it's cut out from another name, unlike Mia which feels like a short form of Maria. Nia is alright!
Nia Igiby is the main fictional character in the book series: 'The Wingfeather Saga' written by Andrew Peterson. In the books Nia is Janner, Tink and Leeli's mother.
Hi, I'm a Nia. I think my name is spelled differently in certain parts of the world but I pronounce it 'Knee-uh'. Most people do here in Wales (I have not met some who pronouns it 'Nye-uh').So yeah, have a nice day :)
Nia Sioux Frazier is a dancer, singer and actress. She is known for starring on “Dance Moms” for seven seasons, her single “Star in Your Own Life” and the soap opera, “The Bold and the Beautiful”.
Can also be said as Nigh-uh (Nigh rhymes with high) I strongly feel that that pronunciation is much, much better than "Nee-uh" Mia: That name can be said both ways and the same goes for Nia.

My name, and it IS pronounced Nee-a. I speak Welsh and know two other Nias, have heard of many (it's popular in Welsh mythology, see Nia Ben Aur), and have a friend whose middle name is that. It's really popular where I live! There are other names pronounced Nye-a, but this is not one of them. THIS name, however, is pronounced Nye-a: http://www.behindthename.com/name/Nia-2.
Nia Vardalos, born Antonia Eugenia Vardalos, is a Canadian screenwriter/actress most well known for her Oscar-nominated movie, "My Big Fat Greek Wedding".
Pronounced KNEE-ah. Not NYE-ah.In the Welsh language, 'i' is pronounced like the English 'e' (While the Welsh 'e' is pronounced 'eh'). Therefore, an 'i' in a Welsh name, should also be pronounced 'e'.This comes from someone who speaks Welsh as a first language.
The name Nia sounds perfect to me. But I wouldn't call my daugher that way. That's only because I used to call myself Niamh (although that's not my name) and my friends call me Nia, because that's easier for them to pronounce.
Simply love this name. I've never heard Nia was a "real" name, I thought it was something I made once. I use it a lot on the internet. If I should change my name, my new name would be Nia.

I like this name, a lot. I like it mostly as a nickname for Natalie or Natalia, both of which I love. I heard it on the message board!
