Meaning & History
Possibly from Egyptian n-kꜣw-bꜣ, perhaps meaning "(the one) belonging to the souls and power", from Egyptian n(j) "of, belonging to" combined with kꜣw, the plural form of kꜣ "soul" combined with bꜣ "working power, active power". This was the name listed by Manetho's Epitome. He was one of the early kings of the 26th Dynasty of Egypt. However, his status as king is not confirmed by any contemporary documents and he may well be an invention of later Saite rulers to legitimize their kingship.
