This is a beautiful name and is pronounced differently than the English word Mommy. Mommy has a long "ah-" sound and a shorter "ee" sound while Momi has a short "o" sound and a longer "ee" as seen in the IPA /ˈmo.mi/. If you think kids will be bullied for having this name but you can't hear the differences, maybe you are the problem.
Timmy: Momi! Read me a book! *mom rushes upstairs* Mom: Timmy, I'm here! Timmy: I meant my sister, her name is Momi, right? Mom: Oh whoops: It's pronounced MOH-mee though. Timmy: Oops! *mom goes downstairs* LOL Hey, People, I actually like this name a lot! It's cute!
In Ghana, this is also a given name with the same pronunciation but different spellings. It actually does mean mom in Ghanaian language but is still given as a name sometimes and people aren't teased for having it as a name.

Adorable name! The only thing about it that I don't like is the fact that it sounds like "mommy".
I don't think you should name your kid this, it sounds like "mommy" which means mom. Your kid will probably get teased, I'm not sure but I'm saying this to let you know what I think. I am not trying to be mean in any way :)

Not only is this name okay, but it’s full of memes and puns that nobody should ever feel ashamed to come across. Just think about how hilarious it is for a girl to have the same name as a common nickname for mothers. “Mom! What Is It Momi?” It sounds weird, but not in a bad way! If I ever had a twin boy and girl, I would name the boy Dadi and the girl Momi! Just kidding! This name is not awful though!

I love the name Momi, so sweet. I'm not a big fan of middle names, but I would use this as a middle name, too.
