Mo can also be used as a short form of both Maura (1), Maura (2), and Moriah, or occasionally of Mary, Maria, Mariah, Marie, Marion (1), Marian (1), Marianne, Marina, Marianna, Mariana, or other names beginning with a similar sound.
My birth name is Maura (more-a) but I go by Mo. It is much easier to remember, spell, and pronounce and it's super cute, too! And I love how it's genderfluid so both guys, girls, and no binarys can feel comfortable using it, too. I think it's an excellent nickname for a girl like myself, too.

I have this as my nickname, I am female. This carried on from my time in China to Australia. If you look into the meaning of this name in Chinese, if pronounced Mó it does mean devil, or possibly to touch, if Mō it's just an ordinary surname. I've come to the understanding I may have been called 'devil' all through my childhood. I wonder why...
