I can’t believe no one has mentioned actor and comedian Milton Berle.
On one hand, this name sounds strong and hardy, yet elegant and posh. On the other hand, this name makes me think of Milton Keynes. Not too bad as associations go, but I do think that the city is quite dirty and full of traffic. So it's an okay name, but not excellent.

Sounds like an old-school pretentious/elitist name. Not good.
'Milton' was the name given by Elizabeth Gaskell to the northern industrial town at the heart of her novel "North and South"; it was modelled after Manchester, where Gaskell herself lived.
Milton is a character in the comedy Office Space, which was based on the cartoon "Milton", both created by Mike Judge.

Milton was a horse who, under rider John Whitaker, won many international events in show jumping. Throughout his career, Milton rarely touched a rail or refused a fence. He was a favourite with the crowd, many times ending a successful round with a great jump into the air. Even after his retirement, he was adored by all.
