Mikel Arteta Amatriain is a Spanish professional football manager who manages Premier League club Arsenal.
Mikel is also the oldest Georgian form of Michael: it dates back to at least the 8th century AD. It has since fallen out of use in favour of the more recent მიხეილ (Mikheil), which was likely influenced by the Russian name Михаил (Mikhail) and therefore likely came into existence during the nearly two centuries that Georgia was under direct Russian rule (from 1801 to 1918 and then from 1921 to 1991).Notable Georgian bearers of the name include the Catholicos Mikel II of Caucasian Iberia (8th century AD), the saint Mikel Parekheli (thought to have lived somewhere between the 6th and 9th century AD) and the poet Mikel Pataridze (1895-1959).Last but certainly not least: Mikel is written as მიქელ in Georgian. The nominative case form of the name is მიქელი (Mikeli).Sources used:

However, the presence of his sibling and Mikel Aranburu in central midfield meant that he was restricted to a supporting role, and he was then sent on loan to Segunda División's CD Numancia for 2003–04 but, while he was dedicated to the Soria team's bid for promotion, he remained keen to establish himself at Real Sociedad, returning at the end of the season; under the management of José Mari Bakero, the player's importance to the team was demonstrated in the 2005–06 campaign, when he was the club's most used footballer playing in 37 games.
