While the standard Polish form of this name is Michalina, and it's very popular right now at #22, last year (2019) Mikaela was also used as a first name for girls and was at #823, two girls were given this name. It was not used as a middle name though.
While I love the classic spelling Michaela, in a way I like this spelling even more, since it's exclusively Scandinavian in origin, and I love the Scandinavian pronunciation mee-ka-E-lah, as opposed to English mi-KAY-luh which I hate, not to mention all the Mckayla spellings which I find not particularly aesthetically pleasing personally. When I think about a person called Mikaela, I imagine someone very similar to what I see when I think of a Michaela, I think I wrote about that in the comments for Michaela. So, I think she has long, dark brown hair, slightly lighter skin tone than Michaela, very dark blue eyes with long eyelashes. She is tall and slender, looks feminine and gentle but at the same time there's a lot of strength in the way she looks. I don't know anyone with this name, this is just an imagining of how I think a Mikaela might be like, and not how I think all people with this name are or should be like.
I think it would be nice to pronounce this name mi-KIE-la (for a girl) and call her Aela (IE-la) for short. I like the combinations Mikaela Summer and Mikaela Grace.
I pronounce the name Mi-kay-la. I think my family spells it weird (Mikaela) and the only other girl I've met with this name spells it Mikayla, which seems more of a natural spelling to me. Does anyone agree?

I think it means "God with us", at least that's what I was told.
The name Mikaela gives me the impression of being refined and respected.

I love this name - so much so, that I chose it for my only daughter, Mikaela. We went with the Scandinavian spelling, so that she would hopefully avoid the people that pronounce the classic spelling "Michael-uh". We also liked some of the newer spellings that have modernized the name, such as Makayla and Mikayla, but eventually Mikaela won our hearts with its streamlined look, Scandinavian spelling and distinction. We love the Swedish pronunciation as well, and since our family is quite international, we wanted a name that sounded good in many languages. We love the name and its meaning: "Gift from God". Our daughter suits the name perfectly.
My name is Mikaela, pronounced Mee-ka-ela. I'm also Mexican. I like my name, but sometimes I get super frustrated because my teachers keep saying Mikayla instead.

Mikaela Schipani was the 7th placer on Cycle 16 of America's Next Top Model.
I never liked this name much until I met a Mikaela. This year she'll be a seventh grader and she is so freaking cute it's ridiculous! Because of her, I always think of a cute little girl when I hear this name.
My name is Mikaela, as well. We pronounce it: Mi-kay-el-uh. People always try to sa it like: Mike-el-uh. I even got boy presents for christmas from toys for tots one year when I was little.
Mikaela is my name and I never liked it growing up, because it was uncommon and people had difficulty pronouncing it, and it looked awkward to me, although most people I've met (including the two other Mikaela/Michaelas) I know like the name.

Mikaela is the name of Megan Fox's character in the Transformers.
I think Ylva is refering to the Scandinavian pronunciation of the name since the name is Scandinavian. Now of course all languages have their own spelling of names so ma-kay-la does not have to be wrong.
