Mervin

Mervin Tran is a Canadian pair skater who competes for the United States with Olivia Serafini. He is also a coach.

Competing for Japan with former partner Narumi Takahashi, he is the 2012 World bronze medalist, the 2010 World Junior silver medalist, the 2010 JGP Final champion, and 2008–10 Japanese national champion. They were the first pair to win a World medal for Japan. After their partnership ended, Tran competed one season with Natasha Purich for Canada. Competing for the United States with Marissa Castelli, he is the 2017 U.S. national silver medalist.

Mervin Matthew is a former cricketer from the West Indies. He was a member of the West Indies cricket team who took part in the Under 19 Cricket World Cup in Bangladesh in 2004. He has played first-class and List A cricket for the Windward Islands.

Mervin "Merv" Garretson (1923 – 2013) was an American educator, leader, poet, author and deaf community rights advocate. His works were primarily directed towards changing mainstream opinion about Deaf culture and about the Deaf community.

Garretson played a vital role in highlighting issues regarding Deaf education. He was a special assistant to four Gallaudet presidents to serve Deaf education directives and worked to help American Sign Language gain academic recognition. His services to The Deaf Way conference also helped in shaping the Deaf culture and setting the precedent for the emerging field of Deaf studies. His efforts helped in increasing the employability of Deaf teachers in Deaf schools and promoting Deaf leadership in both national and international educational organizations.

In 1947, Garretson wrote "To You Who Do Not Understand", a piece that rejected the stereotype that people with deafness were somehow inferior to people who could hear. Through this, he argued that people with hearing disabilities are not "handicapped." This was an idea that was widely applauded and set the precedent for his struggles for the Deaf community.

Mervin C. Salazar is a Filipino writer. In 1996, Salazar was awarded the Don Carlos Palanca Memorial Awards for Literature, the Philippines' most prestigious literary award.

Mervin E. Muller (1928 – 2018) was an American computer scientist and mathematician. The Box–Muller transform is named after him. He was elected a fellow of the American Statistical Association in 1975. He was also the founding president of the International Association of Statistical Computing.

Mervin Kelly (1894 – 1971) was an American industrial physicist. He worked at Bell Labs from 1925 to 1959, in which time he held positions such as director of research, president, and chairman of the board of directors.
