Meaning & History
From Egyptian mry-n-ptḥ meaning "beloved of Ptah", derived from mry "beloved" (participle of mrj "to love") combined with n(j) "of, belonging to; possessing (a quality)" and the name of the god Ptah. This was the name of the fourth pharaoh of the Nineteenth Dynasty, a son of Pharaoh Ramses II and Queen Isetnofret.
