Melody is most definitely not a Polish name, and neither does it have a Polish equivalent because word names are not much of a thing here and until not long ago there were naming laws in place here restricting the use of words as names. Still, last year (2021), 7 baby girls in Poland were named Melody, and 4 were given it as their middle name. In total, there are 109 bearers of this name in Poland. A Polish Melody could go by such nicknames as Mela, Melka, Melunia, Melusia, Didi, Lodzia, perhaps even Melodyjka which means a little Melody in Polish.

I love the name Melody. To my surprise - a very pleasant one, since I like names with an established history of use behind them - I found (via a well-known genealogy site) that in England it has been used for girls since at least the 1780s. I looked at facsimiles of the baptisms to make sure. I suspect that it may have been used in the Middle Ages too, but its 18th century and onwards usage seems to militate against the charge that it is "tacky". I also found, on that same site, a Melody Ann Padwick baptised in 1788, daughter of a father named Edward and a mother also named Melody (her first name, not her birth surname). But I couldn't confirm that the record had been properly transcribed since no facsimile was available.
In 2018, 50 is the most common age for an American (U.S.) Melody who is registered female with the Social Security Administration. It is the 613th most common female first name for living U.S. citizens.
