Please don’t anglicize names or cities etc, because as soon as you do, it loses its culture completely. If you’re in America, perhaps it’s okay, but everywhere else in Ireland, no.It’s pronounced as Maeve/Mave, rhyming with fave.

Too many letters 0/10 I would spell it Mave like Dave, lol.
In Irish folklore, Meadhbh was an arrogant queen who wanted the prized bull of another kingdom. Very good TED-ED video II II II V https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lawx8YoLEIY
I am one-fourth Irish (County Mayo in Connaught) and as a little girl I was told stories of Maedb, an Amazon who married King Connor (supposedly a distant ancestor or our clan, the O'Connors). Of course, the truth in this is questionable (you know how folklore is) especially since Maedb is supposedly not only Amazon but an Amazon Warrior from Homer's stories, like Xena Warrior Princess. I like to pretend it is true and it gives me strength to think I might be descended from such people.
