One of the most handsome names known to man, in my opinion! Marvin sounds amazing, has that classy feel, isn't overused, is fun to write, and even has cool nicknames (Marv, Vinny, Marvelous)! Marvin Zachary is my top combination, at the moment.

I don't think Marvin sounds too nerdy, I like it quite a bit and think it's more charming than Martin. I think the v makes it more pleasant to say. But maybe I'm biased since Marvin the Martian is my favorite Looney Tunes character, lol.
Marvin is one of the main characters of the popular puppet comedy web-series "SML". He's portrayed as a short-tempered husband to his wife Rose and a mean father to his adoptive son Jeffy. He's usually the butt of many jokes and many of his misdeeds go punished or he's pushed to his limit by ridiculous scenarios.

I didn't realize Marvin was the name of the cop who got his ear cut off in "Reservoir Dogs," but I've always associated Marvin with the guy in the back of Vince Vega and Jules Winnfield's car, who Vince accidentally shoots in the face when they go over a bump in the street, in "Pulp Fiction." Nearly the entire last third of the movie revolves around them cleaning Marvin's remains from the car and disposing of the body. I guess Tarantino likes to use the name Marvin for people who meet awful ends in his movies...
Marvin Nash is the name of the cop who gets his ear cut off by Vic Vega in the Quentin Tarantino movie "Reservoir Dogs."Stan Marsh's grandfather from "South Park" also has this name.
I'm a little surprised that no one has mentioned that one of the most renowned rock artists of our time, Marvin Aday (better known as Meat Loaf), bears this name.
Although I am a Marvin Gaye fan, I am anything but a fan of the name Marvin and I don't think it's cool. It sounds a bit like the name Mervyn which is definitely uncool and nerdy.
