It's a nice name. Enough said. People need to let go of the 1970's sitcom crap, it's going on 40 years after all. All you Marshas out there, wear it proudly.

My dog is named Marsha, and as a nickname we call her Miriam (we don't know why), so I've always viewed this name as a good one, but more for pets and animals rather than people. Although I'm sure it would be nice on a person, I can't imagine a baby, toddler, or young child with the name.
Marsha Stevens-Pino (born Marsha Carter on August, 20 1952), singer, musician, songwriter, recording artist, and the "mother of contemporary Christian music." She wrote the well-known song "For Those Tears I Died (Come to the Water)" in 1969 when she was sixteen years old. After divorcing her husband of seven years, she came out as a lesbian and eventually married Cindy Stevens-Pino in 2008. Perhaps defying all expectations (and certainly a lot of adversity and some vicious backlash), Marsha Stevens-Pino holds fast to her born again Christian faith. She currently leads BALM Ministries (Born Again Lesbian Music).
How has nobody mentioned Marsha P. Johnson? She threw the first brick during the Stonewall Riots, and basically kick-started the whole LGBTQ+ rights movement.

Marsha is a beautiful name... Actress Marsha Mason... an America actress shares this name... There was nothing shabby about her. Growing up with this name... I found it very annoying every time someone said Marsha, Marsha, Marsha or when they spelled my name Marcia... that's Mar-see-a.

This name always makes me picture rather shabby-looking middle-aged women with ugly glasses and bad, 80s-like hair. It's not a very attractive-sounding name.
Popular American actress Marsha Hunt (1917-) is a famous bearer of this name; she was born Marcia Virginia Hunt, but altered the spelling of her name when older so as to avoid the mispronunciation of Marcia as Mar-see-a.
