María del Carmen Pérez Cuadra is a Nicaraguan writer and poet. She has won multiple awards for her poetry and short narrative writing, and published multiple books. As of December 2020, she was a doctoral candidate in Literature at the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile.
María del Carmen Martínez Sancho (1901 – 1995) was the first woman in Spain to gain a PhD in Mathematics. She was the first Professor of Mathematics to work in secondary school education in Spain, and the first woman to be appointed to the Board of Extension of Studies at the University of Berlin. She was part of Madrid and Seville's Instituto-Escuela.
María del Carmen Millán (1914–1982) was a Mexican academic, writer and lecturer who became the first woman admitted to the Mexican Academy of Letters. Her work to preserve the literary heritage of Mexico was recognized both internationally and nationally.
