Possibly means "splendor of the lineage" in Guanche. Maninidra was the name of a Guanche guayre (leader) from Gran Canaria and a close relative to the guanarteme (king) Tenesor Semidán. He was captured and exiled to Spain after fighting against Spanish settlers, becoming an ally of the Spaniards during the late 15th century.
