I had an orange bearded dragon named Mandy, it was short for Mandrian like the fruit but she sadly passed away due to issues with the "safe sand" we were using.
Mandy Miller (born 1944) is a former child actress, who starred in the 1952 British movie "Mandy", about a little deaf girl. It was a very popular film and made Mandy Miller an instant star. Mandy Miller's real birth name was Carmen Isabella Miller, but she was called Mandy from an early age. Her sister is the mother of actress Amanda Pays.
My name is Mandy not Amanda. For a long time I didn't like my name but I do now. My aunt would call me Manda when I was younger, but my brother when he was little he couldn't pronounce my name so he would always call me Deedee. Needless to say the nickname stuck but now only a select few people call me that.
In 2016, my grandparent's dog, Mandy, passed away. I loved her, she was so sweet and friendly! I love the sound of this name, and Amanda, but I prefer this.

My real name is Mandy not Amanda and I have gone through times where I wanted to change my name because I thought it was stupid but I have learned to love my name. I really hate it when people put the stereotype of a spoiled blonde bully who only cares about herself to the name Mandy, especially when I try to be the kindest person I can be, but obviously I'm not perfect. I just want to stop the stereotype of the name Mandy or of any other name (I know people don't mean any harm when the first thought that comes to their head is a spoiled bratty blonde rich girl when they hear the name Mandy).
Prefer Amanda. Mandy sounds Like the word “Manly” In some children’s book I’ve read years ago, a girl called Mandy was in that book and was picked on because she was babyish, small for her age and her mum was old. Mandy was blond and had plaits in her hair, babyish rabbit glasses and a knitted cardigan with rabbits on, lol.

Mandy Bloom is the title character of the 2018 horror film "Mandy" starring Nicolas Cage. She is a murder victim whose significant other seeks to avenge her death. This is also my nickname.
It's my name and I personally love it. To me, it is a youthful name which is fitting for me as at 32 I still get asked for ID to prove I'm over 18. I am far from spoiled, bratty or cheerleader like. I'm a brunette who loves books and nature and very much the opposite of superficial. The name means "worthy of love" (Latin) which I think is beautiful.
In 2018, 32 is the most common age for an American (U.S.) Mandy* who is registered female with the Social Security Administration. It is the 965th most common female first name for living U.S. citizens. *as a first name, not a nickname.

This is my name and honestly, I love it. No, I don't have blonde hair. No, I'm not a cheerleader. No, I'm not a bully (I get bullied by others). I am a tomboy, not girly. I don't get HOW you get that. Think about it: The name Mandy has MAN in it. Why would someone called Mandy bully when they are already bullied?

Mandy is a character in the TV series Totally Spies!. She is Sam, Alex, and Clover's rival. Impressively, she is voiced by the same person who voices Sam, Jennifer Hale.
Just can't seem to get over that it has the word "MAN" in it.. absolutely ugly name and sounds too masculine to be a female name.

My name is Mandy not Amanda or Miranda and I love my name. I am blonde, don't have dizzy best friends, was not popular in school. I don't use the word like a lot. My name isn't the best or most unique but it's a nice name I did get laughed at a lot being called Man and Mandie. But my name is a good name. Don't try and cling a personality to a name. Everyone's different.
My legal name is Amanda but I have been called Mandy my entire life. And some of the comments people have made regarding the name Mandy are just rude & stereotyping. I've encountered all types of Mandy's & Amanda's in my life and all have unique personalities and are different as each of us are. Very sad to place such a stereotype on a name.

My first name is Amanda, although I've been called Mandee as long as I can remember. I hate being called Amanda, mostly because of how common it is. I've personally never met another Mandee (Mandy.)
Sorry to be such a hater, but I can't stand the name/nickname Mandy. One, it's youthful, and two, I just find it ugly. Maaaaandy. Ick. If you want, name your child Amanda and call her Manda. At the most Mandi or something. But Mandy... it just sounds too... dumb. And please don't name your child Mandy! Alternate spellings (Mandi, Mandee, etc) are useful too you know!
I just LOVE that name. Everyone with that name is amazing and the name is SO beautiful.

Mandie Shaw is the heroine of the Mandie children's mystery series by Lois Gladys Leppard. The series starts in the year 1900 in the Appalachain mountains of North Carlina and follows Mandie's teenage years. She solves mysteries with a number of cute boys, best friends, and her cat Snowball.
I've been calling my best friend Amanda this since we knew each other (for about twelve years, then, since we were two!) and it works well for her. I think it's a nice nickname or Christian name. Either works well, I think.
I think it's the cutest name! It can be serious or just really cute and really reminds me of a fun, bubbly person. At first I HATED this name, but now it's like the cutest name ever. And I know a really nice person named Mandy and she does not have blonde hair and would never dream of cheerleading (because I'm not in a place that does that) and always is caring.

I can only think of that "Evil Bratty Cheerleader"-type character (blond, loves make-up and fashion, most popular girl in school, enjoys the suffering of others, sometimes not very intelligent and uses the word "like" excessively) that normally has this kind of a name, with two other best friends that have similar-rhyming names. I'm sure most Mandys aren't like that, but that is the impression I get from the name. However, I get a completely different impression from the name "Amanda," probably thanks to Amanda Bynes, but I haven't met a redeeming Mandy character (or person for that matter, I haven't met any Mandys).
