I am a convert to Judaism. The first synagogue I attended was a Conservative synagogue. I had no no Hebrew name, as I was raised Catholic, so the rabbi bestowed upon me the Hebrew name of Malkah. It's really meaningful to my spiritual journey, and I feel honored to have been given this royal name.
Since Malka means 'queen' in Hebrew, when reading the Bible in the original Hebrew, all queens have this as part of their title, i.e. Queen Esther in Hebrew is 'Esther haMalka' (Esther the queen).
