It’s not my style for a spelling (I like Madeleine/Madeline/Madelyn), but I’m sure someone has their reasons for naming a kid this. I think Madeline looks prettiest, but my last name gets mispronounced a lot, so Madelyn would be better. Everybody has their own reasons for picking a spelling. I don’t understand them, but they must be there. It looks kind of cute though. Try to be polite when commenting.

Why is everyone here butchering this name? Even if you don't like this spelling variant please remain respectful as people with this name (Or even children) might see this. Can we please have a civil and respectful conversation? Not a big fan of this spelling either but still I felt the need to say it.
Madoline Thomas (born Madoline Price; 1890 – 1989) was a Welsh character actress whose career, beginning in midlife, encompassed stage, film and television roles.
I'm reminded of a mandolin. Seriously, it's an 'n' off from being Mandoline. Maybe as a character. I don't mind this spelling honestly, at least it actually looks somewhat like it's pronounced. A guilty pleasure I'd never use.

Woah, y'all really hate this spelling. You don't think it might have been used in parts where the spelling Madeleine doesn't make sense? I mean the spelling you guys praise doesn't even make sense in English; it's a French form! I personally dislike Madeleine or Madoline or whatever spelling you prefer. The name is boring, and that doesn't change by spelling it the French way.

Madoline? Seriously. Madeline/Madeleine is a nice name. Don't mess up by spelling it like this or Madilynn, Madyline or whatever crazy spelling you can think of.
Parents-to-be, Listen up. This is not a variant of Madeleine. It is a butchering of a beautiful, classic name. If you name your sweet, beautiful, innocent, deserving-of-a-decent name baby girl Madalyn, Madalynn, Madolyn, Maddilyn, etc THEN YOU ARE DOING HER NO FAVOURS. It is a trashy name. She -- and you by extension -- will appear uneducated, thick and illiterate by using a cre8tivve spelling. Don't you want your daughter to get a decent job one day? A mortgage? Respect from others? Then smarten up, people. The name is Madeline or Madeleine. Period. If you cannot understand this, if it is beyond your comprehension, if you MUST inflect naming abuse on your beautiful child, then please check out Madyysin, Neveah, Roxie and Tiffannee and leave this timeless, beautiful, classic name the heck alone. I am serious. Very serious. You are ruining a timeless classic. You are ruining it for everybody! To educated, cultured and discerning people of taste: reclaim this name from the unknown, detritus-strewn trailer parks of North America! Use Madeleine or Madeline. Lets reclaim it, once and for all. Innocent little Madeleines everywhere thank you. This has been a public service announcement for the Madeleine Naming Convention Preservation Society of North America (2015).

Yuck. MAD-o-line? That doesn't even sound like a name anymore. I wonder if this was influenced by the Isobel spelling for Isabel. Although that's not a variant but a Scottish spelling. Anyways, just stick to Madeline. Or if you want something less common, try Madeleine.
