Meaning & History
Possibly means "mighty lord", deriving in part from the Sumerian element ๐ (lugal), meaning "king, owner, master". Name borne by Mespotamian god who, along with his twin brother Meslamta-ea, was thought of as a guardian of doorways. They were identified with the constellation Gemini, and were primarily worshipped in the cities of Kisiga and Durum.
