Lucia is a beautiful name. It is feminine, elegant, and it ages with gorgeous grace. I also love the nickname “Lucy”. Overall, I think Lucia is a wonderful name.
I love this name! I think it’s a sweet name for girls and I think it sounds good for young kids and for women! I love all the pronunciations but I have a special place in my heart for the loo-see-ah Spanish version!
My name is Lucia (loo-cee-ah) I personally really like it. I don't really know anyone who is a Lucia but know Lucys. I come from a Spanish speaking heritage and it sounds very pretty in Spanish. Other people do pronounce is as loo-sha as well. It sounds very sophisticated pronounced like that. Nicknames that people have used are Lucy, and Luce, mostly Lucy.
Lucia is really nice. I like almost all Lucy names and I seem to kind of go through phases when I either like Lucy or Lucia more. Lately I've been gravitating more towards Lucy, but Lucia is still a very lovely name and I can totally see why it would be more appealing to a lot of English speakers for whom Lucy may sound very standard and uninteresting. I actually think that just like one can use Lucy as a nickname for longer Luc- names (think Lucilla/Lucille, Luciana or even Lucretia etc.) so could be the case with Lucia, even though it doesn't sound as nickname-y as Lucy does. I really like the idea of Lucia being a nickname for Lucilla for example. My favourite pronunciation is most definitely Loo-SEE-ah, the way it's pronounced in Sweden. The Swedish feast of Saint Lucia is also one of my main associations with this name, the other very strong one is sister Lucia of Fatima. I think the Italian pronunciation Loo-CHEE-ah is very lovely too, and Luce (LOO-che) would be a cool nickname for this one. LOO-shuh is my least favourite, but I still like it far more than our Polishh Łucja. I think regardless of pronunciation, Lu, Lulu and Lula would be lovely nicknames, or even Lucy/Lucie though I suppose most Anglophone people use Lucia specifically because it's more interesting than Lucy so they wouldn't want Lucy as the nickname anyway.
I like this name! Specifically pronounced either loo-see-a or loo-chee-a. It's a bit long, but a good nickname is Lulu. Another nickname is Lucy, but I really dislike the name.

I love my middle name, a twist on Lucy, which is so much more common and lifeless.

I like it best when it is pronounced with three syllables (SEE)
I have a cousin with this name, pronounced Loo-Sha, and I find it very pretty. There is a girl in her school who spells it Loosha, which I don’t like. However, Lucia looks much prettier. I love the sound of this name and find it extremely unique.
My full name is Lucia, but my friends have always called me Lulu. It can be little bit annoying because I pronounce it Loo-see-a, but where I'm from the most common pronunciation is Loo-sha. I've honestly just stopped trying to correct people. Still, it's a nice name and I personally like it.
My name is Lucia (pronounced Lu SEE a) but I always get called Sia by my family and friends. I like the name and the way I pronounce it, but I really like being able to shorten it. Sia just flows and I will never go off the name. I highly recommend Lucia as a name to choose for a baby. Really cute! Some other ways to shorten it are Lusisiy, Lu, Luc, Lulu, Sisy, Si, and Lucylu.
This name is growing on me. I didn't like the name Lucy while I was growing up but now I find it okay and this version looks pretty. I guess it could be pronounced either Loo-cee-uh, Loosha or Loo-chee-uh.

My name is also Lucia, pronounced the Italian way, with the Chia sound, and as a child I was tortured in school, so of course I was not happy with it. As I got older though, I grew to love my name and my heritage and the meaning behind it. My great, great, great grandmother carried this name also and I am proud to carry it now and have also given this name to my daughter as her middle name, Mariah Lucia :)
I'm named Lucia, and I didn't really liked my name until while ago, but now I really do and I would never change it. I'm from Croatia, my mum wanted it to be pronounced loo-chi-a (Italian), but it is little unusual here to pronounce that name like that so I and all my friends pronounce it loo-cee-a (with hard c). I love also the way loo-see-a sounds, but I hate loo-sha.
My sister was going to be called Lucia (pronounced loo-sha) because my mum and dad were married in St Lucia. However my nanna convinced my mum that the name was too unusual and would cause too much confusion so she changed it to Lucie, which in my opinion is not nearly as beautiful as Lucia.
This name is 'okay'. I'm not crazy about it and would never use it, but the meaning ('light') is pretty. If you have a relative you want to honor (a Lucy, Luciana, Lucia, etc..) it would be a nice middle name. I think it would go well with many first names.
In October of 2012, 6 year-old Lucia Krim and her 2 year-old brother Leo were murdered by their Nanny in Manhattan, New York. Senseless and sad story and hate to post it, but when I read this name I think of her. Little Lucia was absolutely beautiful. Her image and name are still in the headlines because the shocking crime rocked NYC. Anyway, little Lucia Ursula Krim went by the nickname 'Lulu'. Lulu is a better alternative nickname than 'Lucy' IMO. In this day of Emily's, Sophia's, Alexis's and Isabella's, the name Lucia definitely stands out. I like the Spanish pronunciation LOO-SEE-YA not LOO-CHEE-AH.

Love the Italian pronunciation Lou-chee-ah, the English version sounds like you're dragging out the name Lucy. It's just not as pretty to me.

Beautiful, classic Italian name for a girl. Use it instead of choosing the over-popular Sofia.
I had my daughter two weeks ago and my husband and I named her Lucia. We are overjoyed. She fits her name perfectly since she has brought light into our life and much love.
My mother's name is Lucia -- pronounced Loo-sha. She has always disliked it as it never gets pronounced correctly.

I am named Lucia, and most of the time I love it, but sometimes I think it should be used a bit more often.

I love this name! It sounds so nice. I like the meaning of it to, "brings light into the darkness." I also like several nicknames that could go with this name, such as "Lucy" or "LuLu." And the name is not common in the United States yet, nor is the name Lucy. Of course that could change.
This is a beautiful name. Any way you pronounce it, whether it be the English "lu-sha" or Italian "lu-CHEE-ah" or the Spanish "lu-SEE-ah" - it's darling. My only concern about this traditional "older sounding" elegant name is that it's quickly becoming very popular, and I fear it will be in the top 10 in the not too distant future. Look at names like Sophia, Isabella, and Emma - numbers 1-3 for 2007, respectively.
I think Lucia is a nice name. My favorite pronunciation is Loo-See-a but I like Loo-Sha too. One of my friend's name is Lucia and some pronounce it Loo-See-A but it's Loo-Sha.
