Meaning & History
Means "closed eyes" or "shut eye", from Old Norse loka "to close, to lock" and brá "eyelash". Alternatively, the first element could be derived from Loki. Óli Lokbrá is the Icelandic translation of the Hans Christian Andersen fairy tale Ole Lukøje (1841; The Sandman in English).
