That is also diminutive of Pelita in Indonesia that means 'Light' or 'Torch'. I think the name is beautiful and sweet. Remind me of young feminine girl who wear pleats skirt and tiny feet. Lol.

Some Norwegians refer their word 'Liten' (which means 'little') as Lita due to different accents, and it's pronounced Leeta.
A famous bearer is rock musician Lita Ford, who was the lead guitarist for the all-female rock band The Runaways. Though her real name is Carmelita. Personally, I really like Lita a lot and it's really cool, though I don't really fancy the names it's a nickname for.
I like this name better than the similar "Leda", because it doesn't have the unpleasant association with the story of Leda and the Swan (Zeus, in the form of a swan, rapes and impregnates her).

It's -ita that is used at the ending of a lot of names to mean little, like Cecilita for little Cecilia.
Lita Grey was the second wife of Charlie Chaplin, she was only 16 when she married him and he was 35. They had two children- Charles Chaplin jr. and Sydney Chaplin.
