In Estonia one of the forms is Liisbet and it derives from the old Estonian Liso or Liisu, from the times that family names were not used but only farm or place names.

I adore this name. I don't know why, but it reminds me of my wonderful summer holidays in Denmark.
Lisbet has also been used in Britain, although probably not as a full name.
