Plural form of lirio which refers to a lily flower or an iris plant, taken from the Spanish and Valencian titles of the Virgin Mary, La Virgen de los Lirios and Mare de Déu dels Lliris, meaning "The Virgin of the Lilies" and "Mother of God of the Lilies" respectively.
