Lillian is my sister's name, and I've always loved it.It sounds vintage but not too old-fashioned, gentle but not too delicate, and simple but not boring.Overall a gorgeous, timeless name. Fly high, Lillians!
My name is Lillian and I go by Lillie bcuz I think it fits my personality better...anyway I think Lillian is a beautiful name it is kinda vintage, I was named after my great, great grandma.
I know a lot of people think this name is feminine but to me it can be masculine too, I feel like Lillian is such a versatile name. It can be girly and classic while still being modern and not that girly. Honestly this name can really adapt to somebody whatever their personality and interests are. I know a lot of people might disagree. Lillian is a good name to name somebody.
I think Lillian is a beautiful name. It has a lovely soft and gentle charm about it, yet it's also graced with a gorgeous undeniable and unfading strength. It is beautiful.
I really like this name because it's lovely and warm! When I think of this name, I picture an active girl. In my opinion, this name is better than the one L variant: Lilian.
Lillian is pretty, not as used as Lily or sounds too old-fashioned like Elizabeth. I think it is quite an appropriate version for those Lilys who grew up and want a more adult and professional name. Although personally I like Lilliana more, although the two versions are just beautiful. As for Gillian or Jillian I'm not so sure. They sound a bit strange to me...
This name is so cute. I’m not particularly fond of the nickname Lilly because it’s so popular but I would use Lillian either way, I just love it that much.
My name is Lillian. I used to hate it because people used to make fun of it and misspell it as “Lilyin”. I would often go by Lily (and my family still calls me Lily), but I now use Lillian because it sounds more professional.
My name is Lillian and I absolutely hate it! I love the vintage feel of it and I think it's a beautiful name on others, but I don't feel that it fits me personally, so I went by Gillian for a long time and now go by Gabriella.

I like Lillian better that Gillian and Jillian. Also, you can get a lot of nicknames with this name like Lilli, Lillia, Lila, etc.
I know I will probably get a lot of dislikes on this, but I CAN'T STAND THIS NAME. It sounds like someone got bored with Lily and made Lillian. It also sounds like a mean nickname for someone, like loony or dumdum. Don't get met me wrong, I have met plenty of Lillians that are nice, smart and sporty, I have no problem with the people who have this name, it's about the name itself. Even this is better than Lilliona, though.

Lillian is a beautiful name and so girly, but I hate the name Lilly. It is so tizzy and ditzy.
To add to what the previous commenter said, Lillian is such a unique name where I live. I have never met another Lillian in any of my classes or out in public. I love how my name is so different from others here. :)
I was born in 1958. Growing up, I wanted a common name. Throughout grade school I never even met another classmate named Lillian. I eventually learned to appreciate my name's uniqueness. Now you say it's trendy? Who'd have thought?
My middle name is Lillian, which I have always hated but I am gradually starting to be pleased about. My mother's middle name was Lillian, her best friend was Lillian, and my grandmother-in-law's first name was Lillian. With all that in mind, my daughter has just had a baby girl and named her Scout Lillian, which I really like as a combination. Strong, cheeky name combined with sweet, feminine name. I agree with everyone who says that Lily is becoming too common - but ideally it should be spelled Lily like the flower, rather than Lilly.
My full name is Lillian, but I go by Lilly. As someone said earlier, this name can sometimes feel good to have and other times its feels sorta lame, I guess...
My little sister's name is Lillian. I think she is pretty smart. I like this name and I wish my parents named me Lillian instead of the one I have.

Honestly, a lot of people are saying that Lillian is an old fashion name and for older people or for girly and babyish girls If you cant tell by my username my name is Lillian and I'm not old fashioned at all or girly. I play sports like basketball and soccer and I am in no way proper either, it honestly depends on the person. Us Lillians aren't all proper, girly, or dull. We are ourselves different from one another, it's like how people with ginger or red hair don't like to be called ginger because it's stereotypical taking them out of a group or calling them something just because of their hair color. Others aren't going around and saying "Hey brown!" to people, but anyway, all Lillians are different in their own way- just don't judge a book by its cover.
For people who say that people called Lillian are weak, extremely girly or babyish? Can we please just take a minute to realise that it's not the name that makes the person, it's the person that makes the name. My best friend is called Lillian and she's probably the strongest, least babyish girl I know, and for me, Lillian as a name is elegant and beautiful.
My name is Lily, and people ALWAYS ask if my real name is Lillian. It's actually Elizabeth XD. I honestly love the name Lily but hate the name Lilly or Lillian.
I really like this name, but it's a shame its getting so trendy. At least it's a beautiful name with history, unlike many trendy names. I would say maybe use this as a middle name with a more unique name, because it definitely deserves use. However, I feel like there are going to be a lot of little Lillian's in preschools and kindergartens soon, so be careful. But if you really love it as a first name, go for it! I really like Lillian as just Lillian with no nicknames because although I like the name Lilly, its just too common these days. That could be a reason why this name has gotten more use in recent years.
Beautiful, classic name that's making a comeback. Lilly is a good nickname. I know someone with this name and everyone tells her it's their grandmas name, which I think is good because that's just proof it can age well!

I think this name is beautiful, but it's extremely popular in the United States so I would only ever use it as a middle name.
This is a beautiful name and has a pretty nickname of Lily. Unfortunately it has become too popular so I've had to remove it from my potential baby-name list. Too bad. :(
Lillian does not rhyme with million, even if you do say it milli-on. It's Lil-ee-an, not Lil-ee-on. It's not old fashioned either; it's rising in popularity. My name is Lillian, and I have a spine and I don't wear tea/party dresses.
I'm 15 and my middle name is Lillian (after my grandma) and some days I love it and some days I hate it. It's just one of those names that sounds old sometimes and pretty others.
My sister is called Lillian and she is 15! It is not just a name for old people. She gets compliments on her name a lot. At least you remember it more than say a person named Emily or Kate. I like those names, but they are very common.
I think this name is so weak. It sounds like the name of a person who has no spine.

Well my name is Lillian and I know only one other Lillian and she is one month old I am proud of the name Lillian and I never even considered going by Lilly or Lily.
Lillian does so ryhme with million. Some people don't pronounce it mil-yon, I prononce it Milli-on. Lillian is a pretty name, also the name of the twin, Lil, from the Rugrats.
