This might be the most beautiful name I have ever heard. It sounds like wind chimes or a stream bubbling over stones. The last Queen of Hawaii was lucky to have this name. I don't know much about Hawaiian names, but if it were given to a child in honor of the Queen, the nicknames Lili, Kalani, or Lani would all be gorgeous.
From the term "lili'u", meaning "smarting, aching", and the term "kalani", meaning "the high one". This name was given to her because the regent queen had developed an eye infection. The word "lani" is commonly used in many names, and this is one of them.
