Lenny rather sounds feminine to me. I like this name for a girl. Either as a full name or a nickname. I know this can also be a masculine name, but it sounds more like a feminine name to me.

( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) is called a Lenny face. Like Jeff, this name had became a meme. So it's probably a good idea to not shorten Leonard into Lenny.
Hurricane Lenny was the twelfth tropical storm, eighth hurricane, and record-breaking fifth Category 4 hurricane in the 1999 Atlantic hurricane season. It is the second-strongest November Atlantic hurricane on record, behind the 1932 Cuba hurricane.
Lenny and Lennie are pretty rare as given names in Sweden, and I've NEVER heard of it being used as a nickname for Lena! There are only a handful of women in Sweden who are named Lenny or Lennie. A Lennart is often called "Lelle" and a Magdalena is often called Malena, Magda or Lena, but normally, there aren't any nicknames for Lena. [noted -ed]
This name is soooo cute for a guy! I love it because it makes me think of a handsome and laidback type of guy. I would definitely use this name if I had a son, especially because it's not too common. I think I've only met one guy named Lennie in all my life, but I prefer the spelling LENNY!
Lenny Bruce was an American comedian in the 1960's, portrayed by Dustin Hoffman in the film "Lenny" from 1974.Lenny can also be short for Lennart. [noted -ed]
