Some people pronounce this as Lay-luh, but this spelling makes it look like it would be pronounced Lee-luh. To avoid mispronunciation I would spell it Layla (or Leila).
"Lela" is quite commonly used in Georgia as well. [noted -ed]

I can't tell if this is supposed to be LAY-luh or LEE-luh. If it's the former, it's way to ambiguous; and if it's the latter, it's... pettish. Like Lulu.Much prefer Leila.
In Ella Enchanted, it was Ella's 'fake' name in the ball.

This was my Great Grandmother's name. She was part Scottish and part German. I know it was her mother that named her and she was 100% German. I also think this name should be shown as a German name.
