Leili

Variant of Leila. It is sometimes thought to be an inflected form of the name, i.e. the nominative case form in Georgian, but that is grammatically incorrect and therefore unlikely.

In literature, the eponymous character of the 12th-century Persian poem Layla and Majnun written by Nizami Ganjavi (see Layla) is known in Georgian as Leili rather than as Leila. This is probably due to influence from Leili 2.
