I like the meaning, and Legolas is a great character, but I feel like this would look very strange on a real child, and way too obvious that the parents were obsessed with Lord of the Rings.
I think it would be cute for a little boy, especially because you could call him 'Lego' for short! 'Lego' is cute for a little boy and 'Legolas' is fine for an adult. I think it would be especially cute to give it the second name of 'Gimli' making it 'Legolas Gimli', after the characters in Lord of The Rings.

I like that it means leaves bc it reminds me of lotus flowers!
Legolas sounds so beautiful and lovely! It reminds me of the forest, and leaves, and elves, and magic, and Lord of the Rings, and of course the elf prints in the series. The sound of this name! Makes me feel really alive and light! It is extremely musical and melodious! What a sweet and spunky name this is! It is nice on the tongue and pleasant to the ears! Also the meaning of this name is very beautiful! I looked it up and in elvish it means green leaves, which is just perfect!

This name makes me laugh, and not in a good way. It sounds like Lego and has the word "lass" in it. It's the name of a character in Lord of the Rings, but it doesn't fit a real person.

I wonder why so many fear that their son may get teased for the name Legolas. Not many names beginning with L have quite so simpler a meaning. Besides, it feels nice on the tongue, plus if you get twins it sounds nice next to Luna if you get both boy and girl.
Legolas, thanks to those hideous movies, sounds stupid on a real person. This sounds like something rabid Orlando Bloom fangirls would name their sons.
I really like the name Legolas and his character in LOTR, but I would never name my son this. It would surely make him a gay.

I believe this name ought to belong only to the elf from Lord of the Rings. This isn't a good name for a person. Besides, if you named your kid Legolas, he'd probably get teased for it. It sounds a bit like Legoland (so much, in fact, that that's what my sister used to call Legolas).
I completely agree with Pippin. It also reminds me of Leg-o-lamb, which is how the VeggieTales people did it in their little "Lord of the Beans", Lord of the Rings take off, movie. XDI'd feel bad for a kid that got named this.
Oh man. Although I really, really do love both the name Legolas and the character, I have to point out that golas means "naked man (or woman)" in Polish. I'm sorry. It had to be said. I'm not insulting the name, it actually made me like it more, since it made me laugh.

I really love the name Legolas, it sounds so musical.
IMHO, it sounds a lot better when matched with its translation, "Legolas Greenleaf". It makes an impression of a surname and makes it sound better, more melodious. It looks and sounds great to me when used in this way. I love names from Tolkien's stories, I think they're generally well composed and aestethically pleasing.
I like this name a lot, although I would never name my kid it. I think he would get teased too much because of the whole "Lord of the Rings" connection.

I like the character Legolas in The Lord of the Rings, but it seems like too many people like him too. Personally, I don't like Orlando Bloom, and that sort of spoils the "pointy-eared elvish princeling." However, Legolas is a really cool name.
I really love this name because it's the name of my boyfriend! His parents loved the Lord of the Rings so they called him Legolas. And my name is Idril so we both are called after characters! I really really love this name. More people should be called it.
It is a pretty name, but I never knew anyone was called it. Apparently 3 in Denmark are.

I love this name! I think it has a very signifigant meaning, one that is certainly appropriate for an Elf. Legolas son of Thranduil is my favorite character from "The Lord of the Rings" books and movies.
