St. Lazar, also known as Knez Lazar Hrebeljanović (кнеѕ Лаѕар Хребељановић) was a famous bearer of this name. He was dubbed "Emperor" ("цар") by the people of Serbia because they thought that he was the only one who could reunite the Serbian Empire. He was killed on the Battle of Kosovo in 1389. He was also an important member of the Order of the Dragon.
