Meaning & History
Of unknown etymology, possibly deriving from an unrecorded Semitic language. Laṣ was considered to be the wife of the Sumerian god Nergal, as she is listed as such in the Weidner god list. She was possibly a goddess of healing in her own right, and was considered to be able to intercede with her husband on the behalf of her worshippers.
