I love my name Laraine and hate when it is mistaken for Lorraine! I was born in 1951 and I understand there was an actress called Laraine Day. I wasn't named after her - apparently my grandfather suggested the name because he liked it. I am known as Lari at work. I also have an even more unusual middle name - Elswyth!

My middle name is Laraine and I wouldn't have it any other way. It's so pretty. My parents thought that the spelling of Lorraine looked stale and boring, so they made up a spelling. Which evidently is a valid spelling of the name. Who knew?
