Lakshmana is the name given to the Rama's brother by Viswamitra (teacher/guru of Rama brothers). Lakshmana Means "The one who has lakshmi (prosperity) forever". That explains a little more of the actual meaning by the author on this website.

It sounds kind of cool, but the meaning of "having lucky marks" strikes me as being rather unusual. (However, I have a feeling that if I were more well versed in Indian mythology and culture, I might somehow understand it more.)
