Derived from the Georgian interjection კმარა (kmara) meaning "Enough!". The use of this word as a given name was started by parents who did not want any more daughters, but yet ended up having another one. As such, the figurative meaning of this name is "No more daughters!" or "We don't want another girl!" Obviously, the child upon which this name was bestowed was not wanted by its parents.
