Meaning & History
From Japanese 希 (ki) meaning "hope", 一 (ichi) meaning "one" combined with 郎 (rou) meaning "son". Other kanji combinations are also possible.Famous bearers are Kiichiro Toyoda, he was a Japanese entrepreneur and the son of Toyoda Loom Works founder Sakichi Toyoda. His decision to take Toyoda Loom Works into automobile manufacturing would create what would eventually become Toyota Motor Corporation, the largest automobile manufacturer in the world and Kiichirō Furukawa, he was a Japanese astronomer and discoverer of minor planets at the Tokyo Astronomical Observatory.
