A character in a bestselling book, and recently a Japanese drama is named Uesugi Kenshin. He was an excellent soldier, lord of the provinces Echigo, Noto and Kaga, and the rival to Takeda Shingen (a daimyo known for his strategizing ability). In the recent drama, he is played by the Japanese musician Gackt.
I love this name, I don't really know why though. It just seems very masculine to me, perfect for a Japanese man. Well, in my opinion ^.^ I also love Rurouni Kenshin. I used this name for a character in my YuYu Hakusho fanfiction. He's the villain, though >.> I didn't watch RK then so I didn't know who else the name belonged to. Gomen nasai, Kenshin-kun!

Another name for the anime/manga "Samurai X" is "Rurouni Kenshin". "Rurouni" means wandering.
