I think it's interesting how names like this are more unisex in the countries they are most commonly used in, while where I live in the USA, it is much more feminine. I have used this name for a male character, although I do know it is still more commonly used for women even in places like India, Nepal, and Bangladesh, despite the name being more unisex there.
This name is not Finnish. Although the same spelling in Finnish means 'horrible', doesn't mean it keeps the same meaning in different languages with the same spelling. For example, pain in French means bread, and in English, pain means the suffering after getting injured or sick. They both have the same spelling, but have totally different meanings.
