Shame that folks are giving this dreamboat a hard time just because it looks a bit like "castrate." And, seriously, claiming that an army can't be beautiful because of the muscle and brawn? Let's be real -- Kallistrate has a charm that goes beyond those immature associations. Names deserve to be appreciated for what they are, not for the unrelated connections others make. So, here's to the true beauty of Kallistrate and not letting outside noise mess with it!

Am I only the only one who like this? I think it’s nice. The meaning is so beautiful to me.
I'm not too sure about this, but I think it's pronounced "kahl-ees-trah-tee"... I'm only guessing based on seeing the name in Greek script, but I'm no expert on Greek, so don't quote me on this.I disagree with the other comments, I think it's a pretty name, and it doesn't remind me of "castrate".
